Jackson, who has had difficulty finding the back of the net, scored his first hat-trick for the team against Spurs.
After spending £30 million to come to Stamford Bridge, the Senegal international has made 13 appearances in all competitions, scoring six goals so far.
Speaking to The Sun following the victory over Tottenham, James supported Jackson and encouraged him to begin scoring goals on a regular basis.
“I don’t believe he has ever needed encouragement,” the captain of Chelsea remarked.
“As a striker, there are times when you miss opportunities or don’t score. All he needs to do is keep up his good work.
“He received his prize for doing that. I’m delighted for him. Anybody can feel a lot more confident after scoring a hat-trick, especially against a strong opposition.
