A midfielder for Liverpool is quietly outperforming the others.

After Fabinho left the Reds for Al-Ittihad in the summer, Mac Allister—who signed with the team for over £35 million—joined Brighton & Hove Albion.
Unexpectedly, Allister has been used as Liverpool’s first-choice defensivemidfielder.
Earlier this month, Townsend took on Mac Allister with Lutom and was all praise for the Argentine, whom he describes as having “immense quality”.

The former Everton winger stated on BBC 5 Live’s Monday Night Club: “You’ve got three midfielders who all have the quality to get on the ball, get turned, and play forward when it’s at the feet of a Joe Gomez, Virgil Van Dijk, or Ibrahima Konate. You mention Mac Allister as the No. 6 presently; he is a talented player.
