Youssouf Fofana, a midfielder for Monaco, is the subject of Manchester United’s latest scouting trip, according to French publication RMC Sport.

Last summer, the Red Devils explored a number of options to strengthen their defensive midfield unit.

They attempted, but were unable, to sign Fofana on a loan with a buyout option.

Sofyan Amrabat was eventually signed by United on a temporary basis, but the Moroccan hasn’t yet established consistency.

RMC Sport asserts that the team is still keeping an eye on Fofana in the midst of this.

Although the report makes no mention of a valuation, Monaco may be concerned about losing the Frenchman soon because his current deal expires at the end of the following season.

A Fofana substitution for Casemiro would be perfect.

After joining from Real Madrid, Casemiro had an incredible debut season, but he has struggled this year.

More times than not, he has been dribbled past.

There has been a nine percent decrease in the ability to win duel. In addition, he has sustained a few injuries, which will keep him out of commission until January.

This has given rise to rumors that Saudi Arabia may be interested in offloading him this winter.

We believe Fofana would be a perfect addition to the team as a replacement.

He and Casemiro are built similarly.

When it comes to recovering balls, Fofana is superior.

In contrast to Casemiro, he also enjoys dribbling his way out of confined spaces.

He is currently in the prime of his career at the age of 24, and United would be wise to sign him on a long-term basis.

Transfermarkt values the former Strasbourg player at €25 million, and after Casemiro is sold, United hopes to wrangle him away for the same sum.
