Liverpool and Manchester City will square off over Leroy Sané’s signing.

As previously said, a plethora of major European teams are prepared to compete for the acquisition of Leroy Sané, the winger for Bayern Munich.

But is it more likely that the 27-year-old will stay in Bavaria for the time being?

Sané, a former Schalke winger, has had an incredible start to the season and is currently considered Der Rekordmeister’s finest player.

Sané has revitalized his career playing alongside Harry Kane, as a developing relationship is beginning to appear between the two.

Sané has contributed 16 goals in 18 appearances.

However, there remains a shadow of uncertainty over his head because his contract is scheduled to expire in 2025.

Bayern has not yet started contract talks with their top player, therefore they will need to sell him this summer in order to keep him from leaving on a free transfer.

Sané was first viewed favorably by Barcelona and Real Madrid, but then rumors circulated that Liverpool was planning to smash their transfer record in order to entice the 27-year-old to Anfield in lieu of Mohamed Salah. Still, Manchester City is reportedly looking to re-sign Sané, according to Christian Falk.

The winger is attracting interest from other teams, so Bayern must move quickly to keep him from leaving the team.

A new contract from his existing €20 million a year contract would represent a huge salary rise owing to the performances he is generating on the pitch, thus Säbener Straße officials will need to decide if it is worth the long-term investment.
