Ronaldo and Al-Nassr in the Champions League the following year? Of course not, but clicks always outweigh facts.
Is it possible for Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr to compete in the Champions League next season? Of course not, but the Daily Star isn’t going to let that kind of unfavorable information deter them.
Al-Nassr Saudi Club is one of the “three most famous clubs in football,” and the European Union plans to invite them to play in the 2024 European Champions League because of their immense popularity throughout Europe.
Next season, UEFA is “considering inviting” Al Nassr, led by Cristiano Ronaldo, to the Champions League.
According to reports from Saudi Arabia, UEFA is thinking of inviting Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr team to the Champions League the following season.
Despite his incredible form this season, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner has not been performing in front of a sizable group of European fans.
But that might not last for very long.
As per the formal Twitter account of Saudi journalist AlHarbi44, UEFA is contemplating inviting Al Nassr to the 2024/2025 Champions League.
The journalist cites Al Nassr’s “great popularity” among European supporters and their status as one of the “three most famous clubs in the world” as justification for this.
Al Nassr, led by Cristiano Ronaldo, is reportedly “invited into Champions League.”
According to reports, UEFA is now thinking about “inviting” Cristiano Ronaldo’s Saudi Pro League team Al-Nassr to compete in the Champions League the following year.
In a strange twist of events, though, it’s reported that Ronaldo, who plays in the Middle East, may return to TV on Tuesday and Wednesday nights and be given the opportunity to add to his record 141 tournament goals once more the following season.
This is due to a claim made on Twitter by Saudi journalist AlHarbi44 that UEFA plans to invite Al-Nassr to compete in the Champions League in 2024.
He mentioned that Al-Nassr enjoys “great popularity” in Europe and that the 1995 AFC Champions League runners-up are regarded as “one of the three most famous clubs in football.”
It’s unclear if this apparent invitation would be extended to clubs other than Al-Nassr or if it could be extended to the Saudi Pro League winning team, with Al-Hilal currently leading the table by four points over Ronaldo, Sadio Mane, Aymeric Laporte, and company.
Gareth Southgate faces slim pickings ahead of England’s latest double-header after FIVE players withdrew from the squad and many others missed training on Tuesday.
Despite flying back to England and arriving at St George’s Park, Real Madrid sensation Jude Bellingham has pulled out alongside Chelsea defender Levi Colwill.
The duo join James Maddison, Callum Wilson and Lewis Dunk, who all were forced to withdraw over the weekend.
That allowed youngsters Cole Palmer and Rico Lewis to be called up as well as Aston Villa centre-back Ezri Konsa, but Southgate’s problems didn’t end there.
Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford and Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips will both arrive later this week due to what the FA say are ‘personal matters.’
Meanwhile, Harry Maguire, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Conor Gallagher all missed training on Tuesday, scuppering Southgate’s preparations ahead of Friday’s Euro 2024 qualifier against Malta
