The Jamestown At 7 p.m., the University of Jamestown women’s volleyball team will begin their quest for a second straight national championship.
In the opening round of the NAIA National Championships, they will host Benedictine College (Kansas) on Saturday, Nov. 18, at Harold Newman Arena.
“We’ve been talking about this lately is, how we do often depends what we do on our side of the net, the energy that we have and the focus that we have and how intentional we are about what we’re doing,” Jon Hegerle, the head coach of the Jimmies, said “For us, the key is to stay locked in and be intentional about competing together as a team.”
“We’re just going in trying to win, not necessarily winning, but trying to win and compete hard for every point,” Holen stated. “We’re just focusing on our side of the net, focusing on what we can control.”
The Jimmies, who are rated No. 9 going into this game, have a 23-9 overall record and a 9-1 home record. The Ravens have a 21-8 overall record and a 9-4 road record when they play.

Holen remarked, “They’re a talented team.” Since they are incredibly tenacious, I believe that the key is to always play each point as though it were the last of the set, dig deep, and be tenacious in tandem with them.
Holen leads the squad in all statistical categories this season with eight kills, 104 assists, 26 serve aces, and 772 digs.
Holen stated that she needed to assist in keeping her squad psychologically focused on this game.
“I believe that you should just be there for everyone on an emotional level, act as a fire on the court for them, give them confidence, and be their biggest supporter going forward,” Holen stated.
