According to Sam Lee of the Athletic, the Croatian international’s quad problem has returned. Due to the same ailment, Kovacic was sidelined for three games in September.
Kovacic’s departure from Croatia was revealed earlier this week on their official Twitter account (X). Sam Lee also notes that Kovacic remained in Manchester to have the injury further evaluated.
At Chelsea’s match last weekend, Mateo Kovacic experienced a recurrence of the thigh injury he sustained in September.
