Regarding their points deduction case, Tony Cascarino and Natalie Sawyer were completely in accord that Everton had exhibited “negligence.”
On Friday, November 17, the Toffees fell into the relegation zone as a result of the Premier League docking them a record 10 points.
That was down to Everton, who intend to appeal the decision, being found guilty of breaching the competition’s financial rules.
When Cascarino said that someone had to be the test case, Sawyer said, “You’re absolutely right,” on talkSPORT [November 18, 2018].
“The only issue I have with all of this, if they’ve been open and honest, is that it’s obvious as day that you disregarded a lot,” Cascarino continued.
You have to have realized that you couldn’t spend this much. That would cause me problems. Yes, we have been open and truthful; we have shown everything, you say, but you have also disregarded it.
