Timo Werner’s move return window has opened following RB Leipzig’s statement.

Timo Werner, a former Chelsea player, may be returning to his old squad in January as Premier League teams approach him about a transfer.

Timo Werner, the former transfer disaster for Chelsea, may be returning to the Blues soon after RB Leipzig made a statement.

During his initial assignment with the Bundesliga team, the German international made an impression by often finding the net.

Liverpool and Chelsea showed interest in Leipzig after he scored 28 goals in 34 league games, constantly wreaking havoc behind defenses.

But the team from West London would be the ones to take a risk, signing the forward for £45 million in 2020.

He only managed ten goals in the Premier League over two seasons, demonstrating that his skills in Germany had not translated to the Premier League.

Even though he continued to seem threatening, his time at Chelsea was marred by a combination of overconfidence and near-misses.

At that point, he received an offer from his previous team, who agreed to pay the club approximately £25 million to get him back.

In his first season back in the Bundesliga, he scored nine goals in 27 games, nearly matching the record he achieved in England.

“I performed admirably in my first half-year at Chelsea, as both the team and the fans had anticipated. Early in 2023, Werner stated in an interview with The Sun, “I played well and scored the goals.”

“When you come from the kind of success I had with Chelsea or in Germany—having participated in almost every game during the inaugural season, taking home the Champions League in 2021, and scoring against Real Madrid in the semifinals—

“The manager then seems to forget a little bit of this, which was unfair. I had to return to Leipzig for that reason as well in order to experience the joy once more.

It’s no longer how I felt, but success requires it. Perhaps, but all I really wanted was to get away.”
