Bayern Munich is ‘eyeing up a move’ for the out-of-favour and ‘unhappy’ Man United defender Raphael Varane, who could leave Old Trafford for as low as £17 million January.
But even though Erik ten Hag, the manager of United, has denied having a falling out with the French defender, he has regularly chosen to leave out the four-time Champions League winner.
With the recovery of Harry Maguire’s form ten Hag has often picked 35-year-old Jonny Evans or Victor Lindelof to accompany the Englishman, with Varane left on the bench.
The former Real Madrid player is reportedly close to leaving Old Trafford, and his departure may occur as early as January.

Bundesliga winners Bayern Munich have reportedly internally explored bringing the 30-year-old to the Allianz Arena, according to Sky Sports Germany.
Varane might be had for as little as €20 million (£17.5 million) to €30 million (£26.2 million), which looks like a great deal for such a seasoned defender.
The Frenchman’s salary, which puts him among United’s top paid players at almost £340,000 each week, would be the true obstacle.
Varane has only started one of the previous eight Manchester United games, while earning such large salaries.
Ten Hag has maintained that benching the World Cup winner was just a tactical choice and was not the consequence of any backlash.
“I chose these partnerships for tactical reasons,” the Dutchman stated. Harry and Jonny did well, in my opinion.
As I mentioned last year, Rapha’s efforts pleased me greatly because Harry didn’t play much. I’ve always been pleased with his work.
However, Harry is playing really well right now, and there is internal rivalry.Varane’s future is still unknown, and it’s unclear at this point if he will make an effort to advance or defend his position.
