Portugal’s winger might leave Wolves for a Spanish team.
Goncalo Guedes, a forward, may leave Wolves for Villareal during the January transfer window, according to reports.
The Portugal winger, who cost £27.5 million to sign from Valencia last year, did not have the impact that many Wolves supporters had hoped for.
Guedes was loaned out to Benfica for the second part of the previous season after failing to crack the starting eleven, and he is currently spending the entire season with the Portuguese team.
Gary O’Neil may have used Guedes as a substitute for Pedro Neto, who is presently out due to injury, but the 26-year-old may end his loan in January and sign a permanent contract.
Reports from Estadio Deportivo state that Marcelino Garcia, the new manager of Villarreal, has set his sights on him. Garcia was his former manager.
After managing Guedes for a year at Valencia, Garcia is said to be willing to give him a way out should he decide to go back to Spain.
He has only played a few minutes for the Portuguese team since sustaining a severe knee injury at Benfica, but he might be happy to return to Spain, where he was at his best.
