SVEN BOTMAN PUSHED JASON TINDALL INTO NEWCASTLE FANS

When Newcastle United players “hammered” Jason Tindall for turning into a “meme,” Kieran Trippier said that all he could do was laugh.

Earlier this year, a Twitter account named “Jason Tindall desperate to be centre of attention” gained attention after posting pictures of the 45-year-old center stage in dressing room photos, the Newcastle assistant shaking the hand of an opposition manager before Eddie Howe, and incidents where the number two was the first to greet players after they were taken off.

The account has more followers than St James’ Park can accommodate, with close to 55,000. Howe previously shared, ‘we’ve spent the last half hour having a giggle with him over various things he’s been given’. In an effort to “rub it in everyone’s faces that had something to say,” the team even made sure Tindall, who was sitting on the floor and making the peace sign with both hands, was in the front of the dressing room photo when Newcastle advanced to the Champions League the previous season.

Since my time at Burnley, I’ve known JT for a long time,” Trippier said to Sky Sports. “JT is the person to contact if you need anything since, well, the manager is the manager.

“He’s a meme, as you can see on social media. We chastise him mercilessly. He simply chuckles because he gets along so well with the manager.

It’s hilarious because they have a wonderful awareness of the touchline and that’s how it’s always been since the Bournemouth days. He takes a beating for it. It’s nothing to worry about.”
