With ‘high-value’ partnerships, Newcastle uses Financial Fair Play to attract millions of dollars.
By appointing a head of partnership development, Newcastle United hopes to enhance the amount of money coming into the club as they pursue “high-value” deals.
In an attempt to increase revenue, Newcastle United is looking to hire a head of partnership development.
The new hire will collaborate closely with Jonathan Kane, the club’s director of partnerships, who joined from Liverpool earlier this year.
This will give the Magpies more commercial clout and allow them to spend more in the transfer market while still adhering to Financial Fair Play regulations.
Claiming ‘high-value partnership arrangements’ and spearheading the club’s worldwide sales campaign are among the duties listed in the job posting for the head of partnership development. The new hire will be responsible for developing and leading a “high-performing” sales team, generating and presenting “high-quality, bespoke propositions” to possible business partners, and maintaining a “high-level pipeline” of possible customers.
It should come as no surprise that Newcastle is pursuing a candidate who has worked in a comparable capacity in professional sports and has a wealth of expertise in securing major commercial deals.
As sporting director Dan Ashworth hinted at only last month, the club’s turnover still pales in contrast to its competitors, so this will undoubtedly be another significant appointment behind the scenes.
Being able to compete commercially is incredibly tough,” he said reporters. One of the major issues facing Darren Ellis, the chief executive officer, Peter Silverstone, and the team is that some of those clubs have been household names for decades.
“In order to position ourselves to be a top six club both on and off the field, we must all strive to collaborate with one another.” That provides us with additional tools to fight on the field.”
