Toon at training: Returning to work ahead of the Blues match.

Newcastle United’s first team squad returned to training this week as the international break came to an end, in preparation for the Premier League’s return on Saturday.

The Magpies hope to recover from their losses at Borussia Dortmund and Bournemouth right before the domestic fixture break when they host Chelsea at St. James’ Park (kick-off 3pm GMT).

Along with several younger players from Newcastle’s under-21 squad, a few of United’s international stars were back at Benton getting ready for the match this coming weekend.

However, head coach Eddie Howe will be hoping that worries about the volume of injuries his charges have recently sustained are starting to fade. These players include Joelinton, Fabian Schär, and Lewis Hall.
