The Harvey Norman Women’s team from Manly is currently in training.
The inaugural Manly Warringah Sea Eagles side, which will compete in the Harvey Norman NSW Women’s Premiership in 2024, has held its first training session.
A group of extremely gifted players convened for their first historic training session on Tuesday night at the Sydney Academy of Sport at Narrabeen, even though the final squad is still pending.
The Harvey Norman NSW Women’s Premiership, administered by NSWRL, was initially established in 2005 and changed to its present structure in 2017. It is the only open-age competition for women in the state of New South Wales.
The Sea Eagles, who initially participated in the Lisa Fiaola (U17s) and Tarsha Gale (U19s) championships in 2023, have set an example for female rugby league players by fielding a Harvey Norman NSW Women’s Premiership squad.
In 2024, Manly will enter teams into both of those competitions once more.
With the intention of obtaining an NRLW license as soon as possible, the Tarsha Gale Cup marked the club’s first significant move in developing a comprehensive female pathway for the Sea Eagles.
The first Harvey Norman NSW Women’s Premiership side from Manly has a new coach in Keith Hanley.
In addition to her job with the Wests Tigers, Hanley has spent the last three years as the Maori All Stars women’s team’s head coach.
Nik Wolgramm, who has been a crucial part of Manly’s Pathways Football Staff for the past six years, will collaborate with Hanley as an Assistant Coach following his outstanding performance and dedication as the Sea Eagles coach for the 2023 Tarsha Gale Cup team.
