“He has vision” – Mo Salah names Man City star as ‘dream’ Liverpool signing
Mo Salah has selected Manchester City talisman Kevin De Bruyne as a ‘dream’ teammate he would like to have at Liverpool.
The Egyptian international has played with quite the talents during his time at Anfield since his arrival from Roma in 2017.
The 31-year-old has established himself as a modern day Liverpool legend, scoring 198 goals and counting in 322 games so far.
In that time, Salah has won the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, League Cup, FIFA Club World Cup and the UEFA Super Cup as the Anfield club has experienced a return to greatness under Jurgen Klopp’s management.
Salah has played with plenty of exciting attacking talents during his time at Anfield, including forming a legendary trio alongside Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane, which spearheaded much of Liverpool’s recent success.
More recently, the likes of Darwin Nunez, Diogo Jota, Cody Gakpo and Luis Diaz have come into replace the Brazilian and Senegalese stars, with Salah forming fresh partnerships with a new generation of attacking talents.
Though Salah has played with plenty of extraordinary players throughout his career, there are of course many he has not rubbed shoulders with on the same team and would have loved the chance of doing so.
In an interview with Sky Sports, Salah selected the two GOATS in the form of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, the duo who dominated being the world’s best for some 15 years in an era that will be surely go down in history as two of the best of all time going head-to-head, much of which was for the same teams in the form of Barcelona and Real Madrid.
And the third player which Salah selected was Man City talisman De Bruyne as one from the Premier League he would love to be on the same side as.
Asked his dream teammate, Salah said: “Messi or Ronaldo, but if I pick one in the Premier League then I’d choose Kevin. He has vision, I’m sure he can find me anywhere with the ball so I would say Messi, Ronaldo and then Kevin. He’s a great player, the whole team (City) is great. But I just try to play my game and not focus on anyone else.”
Though it’ll probably never happen, it would be interesting to see Salah and De Bruyne line up on the same side, and defences would no doubt have sleepless nights if it did.
