Kieran Tierney will leave Arsenal in the summer, with interest from Aston Villa and Celtic
After the season, Scottish international Kieran Tierney is expected to permanently part ways with Arsenal.
As per a TEAMtalk report, Kieran Tierney is anticipated to leave Arsenal at the end of the current campaign.
Under Mikel Arteta, the 26-year-old has not been able to establish himself as a regular in the first squad and is currently on loan at Real Sociedad.
Tierney progressed through Celtic’s ranks. After a few years with their senior squad, he broke into their first team in the winter of 2016 and moved to Arsenal for a rumored £25 million.
After a fantastic beginning to his life in England, it was anticipated that the 26-year-old would become a key member of the squad in the coming years.
For the North London club, he has appeared in 124 games and even helped to score 19 goals.
Although the Scottish full-back was already well-liked by the supporters, he gradually dropped down the team’s hierarchy. Furthermore, he is not yet included in Arteta’s strategy.
The Spanish manager made the decision to allow him to sign a season-long loan with Real Sociedad as a result.
Tierney was off to a fantastic start in Spain, and there were early indications that he might be able to turn his life around. Sadly, though, he sustained a catastrophic injury.
It is anticipated that he will return to the field shortly and will have his chances. Although Sociedad has entertained the notion of signing him permanently, the report indicates that the likelihood of that occurring is minimal.
Following the season, Tierney is anticipated to rejoin his parent team. He won’t, however, likely fit into Arteta’s scheme. The 26-year-old is therefore anticipated to advocate for leaving the team.
Aston Villa and Celtic are two teams who would love to have him on their team. For some time now, both have been connected to the 26-year-old.
They’re prepared to welcome him back to the club of his youth. Given the kind of expertise he has accumulated since leaving them back in 2019, they believe he might be a fantastic asset for them.
The Scots are eager to have him join them, but they will need to work out a deal with Arsenal, who want to get back the £25 million they paid for the 26-year-old in the past.
Aston Villa, on the other hand, has long desired to have him join their team and is prepared to pay £25 million to bring him in.
A new left-sided full-back is something Unai Emery is eager to add to his squad, and Tierney might be the perfect match for his scheme.
