Ex-Raiders 99-Game Starter Returns to NFL With Panthers
Ex-Raiders 99 suspension has been…..
Erik Harris, a former defensive back with the Las Vegas Raiders, signed with the San Francisco 49ers this week, giving him another opportunity to play in the NFL. Now, after missing the entire season due to injury, his old teammate is back.
Gabe Jackson, an offensive guard, was added to the practice squad by the Carolina Panthers on November 29.
Jackson joined the NFL in 2014 after the Raiders selected him in the third round. After joining the team as a starter right away, he has started 130 of 131 games overall, 99 of which have been with the Raiders.
He spent the last two seasons playing for the Seattle Seahawks, but he was not re-signed for the 2023 season. Despite only being 32, he has spent the entire season outside of the league. This season, the Panthers have allowed 43 sacks, which is the fourth-highest number in the NFL. Jackson will have an opportunity to join the active roster because he has always been a solid pass protector.
The Raiders are currently relishing their well-earned bye week. Two key players, Maxx Crosby and Kolton Miller, have been battling injuries. Crosby has not missed any time due to a serious knee injury. If the bye week hadn’t come by the appointed time, he might have had to miss a game.
Miller missed two games due to a shoulder injury, but he was able to participate in Week 12 against the Kansas City Chiefs. With an extra week off, he should be ready for the late-season charge. There hasn’t been a vacation for the Raiders since Josh McDaniels was fired.
