Frank Wycheck, 52, a former Tennessee Titan, passed away after hitting his head in the fall…..

Frank Wycheck, a former tight end for the Tennessee Titans and a well-known participant in the Music City Miracle during the 2000 AFC Wild-Card playoff game against the Buffalo Bills, passed away. Wycheck passed away on Saturday in his Chattanooga, Tennessee, home after falling and injuring his head, according to The Tennessean.

From 1995 until 2003, Wycheck was a member of the Titans. He was the quarterback at the heart of the memorable NFL play that resulted in a last-second 75-yard score and a 22-16 victory for the team. With only sixteen seconds remaining, the club was down the Bills by one point prior to this moment.

Frank had universal affection. We always had nothing but positive things to say about Frank. After the news surfaced, former Titans wideout Derrick Mason commented, “It was a shock and sad to hear the news earlier this morning.” “Frank was one of those individuals that you had a fantastic time with if you saw him at an event after he retired. Among the guys I wanted to see was him. There was a certain quality about Frank that captivated you.”

After playing collegiate ball at Maryland, Wycheck was selected by Washington in the sixth round of the 1993 NFL Draft. After two seasons in Washington, D.C., he joined Tennessee in 1995 and quickly established himself as a mainstay on the squad. He finished with 505 catches, 5,126 yards, and 28 touchdowns in 155 games when he retired in 2003. In all, he was selected an All-Pro in 2000, made three trips to the Pro Bowl, and made one Super Bowl appearance thanks to his well-known ability.

After sustaining many concussions, he moved into sports media and became a color analyst for Titans games until retiring at the age of 32. He also hosted a morning sports talk show called The Wake Up Zone on WGFX-FM 104.5. When he retired, he reportedly claimed, “I accomplished everything I set out to do and much more,” according to The Tennesseean. “I’m really pleased of myself and couldn’t ask for more from a person who wasn’t even meant to be in a training camp, let alone where I ended myself. It’s been a really amazing journey.

In order to be nearer to family, the former NFL player just relocated to Chattanooga for the summer. Leo, Stevie, August, and Madison, his three grandchildren, and his daughters Deanna and Madison, survive him. Additionally, his family mentioned that plans are in the works to collaborate with current studies on CTE and brain trauma.
