Following  lost their second game in a row after Patrick Mahomes criticized an NFL official’s back-to-back losses, quarterback Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs went viral on Sunday, this time at home against the Buffalo Bills.

Cameras caught Mahomes complaining

to officials about calling wide receiver Kadarius Toney for offensive offsides on a play where tight end Travis Kelce threw a lateral to Toney that went for a

touchdown with less than two minutes remaining. Mahomes was speaking with

Bills quarterback Josh Allen after the game.

The Chiefs would have taken the lead, but they lost 20–17 because they were unable to score any more points.

When Mahomes was available to the media following the game, he kept criticizing the officials.

It’s difficult to swallow, he remarked. “You want to see the men on the field

decide the game, not just from me and football in general, to take away talent like that, for a guy like Travis to make a

play like that. They are people. They commit errors. However, we discuss a topic once a week.

“This is the call. precisely at that instant. Not for me personally. to having a flag alter the game’s result. Offense offsides

have never been called against me. They alert you if that happens. The entire game was played without a warning. And then, in the last minute, you make a call like that? Another game that we’re discussing is the

Toney was considered offsides before to the snap according to the regulation because his torso was beyond the line of scrimmage. Additionally, it was discovered that he never made sure he was onsides by consulting with the authorities on the sidelines.

After the game, referee Carl Cheffers justified the call he had made.

“It’s one of those things we don’t want to be overly technical on, but when in his alignment he’s lined up over the ball, that’s something that we are going to call as offensive offside,” he stated to pool reporter Matt Derrick. That’s what the lower court observed, then. He ruled the field after observing that the alignment was above the ball. That’s the name he gave.”

Chiefs head coach Andy Reid added that he typically receives a warning from referees prior to an offensive offsides call. According to Cheffers, in these situations, “no warning is required” from the authorities.

  1. In any case, the Bills’ 7-6 record and chance to make the AFC playoffs were greatly enhanced by this win. The Chiefs are still in the lead in the AFC West, but the Denver Broncos are only one game behind them with an 8-5 record.
