The man in profile. The success of Lagway at Florida, whom the head coach offered in March 2022 and never stopped pursuing, leading to a commitment about nine months later, may ultimately define Billy Napier’s tenure. Throughout his three seasons as Willis’ starting quarterback, Lagway—a powerful athlete with a strong arm that scored 99 touchdowns—improved his completion percentage by 16.6 points. He also demonstrated his ability to make quick decisions, as evidenced by his career interception rate of just 1.8%. In high school, he also rushed for 29 points. Lagway was one of the country’s best passers at the 2023 Elite 11 Finals, in which he took part.
Profile: Daniels chose the Gators over offers from several other schools, including Alabama, Auburn, Oregon, Texas A&M, Michigan State, and Mississippi State. Daniels, a versatile player for his high school, has lined up as a wide receiver, quarterback for the Wildcats, and even a genuine running back to get the ball into his hands. During four years of varsity play, the output was amazing: 5,541 rushing yards, 58 touchdowns, and an average of 9.9 yards per carry. In 88 passing attempts, he also scored eight touchdowns with the ball.
Profile: Williams provides Florida’s offense with a quick and explosive wide receiver option who can play both outside and in the slot at the next level. He is Lagway’s first pass-catching partner in the class of 2024. His resume has 10.96-second 100-meter and 4.46-second 40-yard sprint times. Williams averaged 18.7 yards per reception over two and a half seasons of varsity playing time, with a reduced junior season because of a collarbone injury. He had 84 grabs for 1,574 yards and 17 touchdowns.

School: IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida (via Wheeling Park [W.V.] High)
Under Napier’s direction, Florida has acquired a highly sought-after speed at wide receiver, and none is more exemplary than Hawkins, who has recorded times of 4.25 seconds for the 40-yard dash, 6.69 seconds for the 60-meter, 10.37 seconds for the 100-meter, and 21.48 seconds for the 200-meter dash. Before moving to IMG Academy for his senior year, he played two varsity seasons at Wheeling Park High School, where he averaged 18.1 yards per catch on 97 receptions for 1,751 yards and 20 touchdowns. Hawkins has 26 receptions for 483 yards and four touchdowns with the Ascenders, averaging 18.6 yards per catch. To survive the brutality of the SEC, Hawkins will need to put on some muscle, but UF will need to strike a balance between strength and conditioning to keep Hawkins athletic.
Mini headshot of Tawaski Abrams, wide receiver; committed on July 18, 2023
Dunbar School, Fort Myers, Fla.
Speed, speed, speed is the profile. Among the wide receiver promises from Florida, are you noticing any patterns? Having run a 10.62-second 100-meter sprint in his track and field career, Abrams switched his pledge from Florida State to Florida to provide the Gators’ future offense another pass-catcher who can easily get past defensive backs. During his junior year at Dunbar, he averaged 9.96 yards per touch on 37 receptions and 21 rushes. Between his sophomore and junior seasons, he scored 14 touchdowns.
Profile: On January 28, the Gators were one of the first Power 5 programs to offer Jackson a scholarship. Throughout the spring, colleges like Florida State, Georgia, Tennessee, Auburn, and Alabama did the same. A versatile player for Portal, Jackson recorded 86 receptions for 1,437 yards and 17 touchdowns, 46 rushes for 388 yards and five scores, and in 151 defensive tackles between his sophomore and junior seasons, along with two sacks, two interceptions, seven forced fumbles, and four pass breakups. Since his freshman year, Jackson has averaged a double-double per game on the basketball court. He will be the tight end in UF’s offense, catching passes.
Mike Williams small-format OT headshot Michael Williams
Assigned on June 12, 2023
Upper Marlboro (Md.) School Charles Herbert Flowers
H/W: 310 pounds, 6 feet 7 inches
Profile: Previously committed to South Carolina, an SEC opponent, Williams chose Florida over a number of competitive programs, including USC, Michigan State, and Miami. Williams is a towering offensive tackle who is very muscular and heavy-handed. This offseason, he dropped from 330 pounds to 310 pounds, and as a result, he should show more athleticism and fluidity on the field as a senior. Williams primarily offers playing experience at right tackle, but Florida will teach him up on both sides of the offensive line.
Profile: On commitment day, Mascoll chose the Gators over the Tigers to give Florida its third offensive lineman in the class, even though he had referred to LSU as his leader the entire time. Though Mascoll is undersized for the position in comparison to other tackles UF has recruited, coaches Rob Sale and Darnell Stapleton have mentioned the possibility of him playing a hybrid role between the tackle and guard positions. Mascoll is a left tackle on tape who regularly plays some of the best competition in the Peach State. Mascoll is a powerful blocker for his high school who also shows off his strength in track and field competitions.
