Three conclusions from the Auburn Tigers’ schedule for 2024
ESPN: The initial part of the schedule is the hardest Auburn QB s….
It is now known to the Auburn Tigers who and when they will play in 2024. The SEC made available the schedules for every conference team last week.
With the addition of the Oklahoma Sooners and Texas Longhorns to the conference in 2024, the SEC will appear slightly different. In 2023, the Tigers will get to play the Sooners for the third time ever. In 2024, the Longhorns are not scheduled.
The Tigers’ three non-conference openers this season are against Alabama A&M, California, and New Mexico.
View the complete schedule here:
August 31, Alabama A&M
September 7, California
September 14, New Mexico
Arkansas Sept. 21; Oklahoma Sept. 28
October 5 at Georgia
Oct. 12 *Date of Opening* Oct. 19 in Missouri
October 26 in Kentucky
Nov. 9 *Open Date* Nov. 16 ULM Nov. 23 TEXAS A&M Nov. 30 at Alabama Nov. 2 VANDERBILT
Let’s now discuss the lessons we learned from this timetable disclosure.
Not Ole Miss, Mississippi State, or LSU
The previous time LSU was not on the Tigers’ schedule was in 1991. This will be the first season since 1989 that Ole Miss will not play these two. Ultimately, this is the first time the Tigers have prevailed over Mississippi State since 1955.
The SEC is entering a new era, and the Tigers will surely face new opponents. Without a doubt, it will be an odd sight to not see these three opponents.
The initial part of the schedule is the hardest.
The Tigers enter SEC action right away on September 14 after hosting New Mexico at home. The team plays Oklahoma and Arkansas at home in back-to-back games on September 21 and 28. The next week, the Tigers must travel to Athens to play the Georgia Bulldogs.
This will reveal a great deal about this team throughout this difficult stretch. It would be considered a significant accomplishment if the club managed to win 2-1 throughout this three-game series. In 2023, the Tigers managed to terrify Georgia, but in 2024, they won’t have the support of their home audience.
The program ends with a well-known scene.
Even though the Tigers won’t be playing many opponents in 2024, one will still exist. The Tigers will travel to Tuscaloosa to play the Alabama Crimson Tide in the Iron Bowl on November 30, which will mark the completion of the regular season. For the time being, one of the most legendary rivalry games in college football will still exist.
The Tigers’ tough home game against the Texas A&M Aggies comes before the Iron Bowl. Although the next two games of the season will be difficult, having the Aggies at home may have an impact.
The Iron Bowl is typically a difficult match, even after Auburn is eliminated and Alabama advances. Next season, the Tigers will have a great opportunity to defeat the Tide and close 2024 with a victory.
