Buffalo Bills Expected To Pursue Green Bay Packers Wide Receiver For Playoff Push (Report)
At this stage of the season, both the Buffalo Bills and the Green Bay Packers are in intriguing situations. The Packers (6-8) believe they can close the season strong and have a strong chance of qualifying for the postseason since they have enjoyed enough success this year. However, losing and coming in at 6-11 isn’t completely impossible.
The season for the Bills has been up and down, but they are currently in the midst of the AFC playoff picture after defeating the New York Jets 32–6. According to a rumor that has surfaced, the Bills may target a current wide receiver for the Packers in order to strengthen their postseason chances.

The NFL Staff at Bleacher Report emphasized Buffalo’s benefits from this move:
The Bills must sort out the receiving room in 2024 even though they might not need a receiver for the latter part of 2023. The Bills could use another young receiver to take a look at before the summer, as Gabriel Davis is expected to reach free agency and they are seeking for more output at the position.
Bo Melton, who is 5’11” and weighs 189 pounds, is a little undersized, but he has some quickness when it comes to his 40-yard dash (4.34 seconds). Taking him from the Packers’ practice squad would provide the Bills with a 24-year-old with a lot of potential.

Melton rejoined Green Bay’s practice squad on Monday.
Melton played special teams and offense in Sunday’s loss to Tampa Bay. He caught one of his two targets for seven yards. Christian Watson (hamstring) and Jayden Reed (toe) are both injured, thus the 24-year-old might be added back to the active squad the following week.
Melton was selected by the Seattle Seahawks in the 7th round of the 2022 NFL Draft, 229th overall. On August 31, 2022, he signed on to the practice squad after being waived on August 30, 2022. With injuries excluded, the Packers have an abundance of young wide outs at their disposal. It wouldn’t be shocking if the organization let go of a player like Melton, but after he received his first career reception last week, they could be more willing to offer him additional playing time.
