NY’S ORCHARD PARK — The Buffalo Bills’ chances of making the postseason are getting better every week.

The New York Times projects the Bills’ chances of making the NFL playoffs at 68 percent following their convincing victory at home against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 15, a few defeats in other AFC games, and other factors. It was 49 percent last week.

Last Thursday, the Baltimore Ravens secured a postseason berth, making them the inaugural AFC team to do so.

The New York Times reports that the Kansas City Chiefs (over 99 percent), Miami Dolphins (99 percent), Cleveland Browns (88 percent), and Jacksonville Jaguars (73 percent) are the clubs with the next-best odds to qualify for the AFC playoffs after that.

Many considerations, such as head-to-head results, records against division opponents, records against AFC opponents, greatest win % in shared games, and more, are used to determine tiebreakers between and among clubs.
