Ohio’s BEREA Joe Flacco was limited on Wednesday on the estimated report, but he was fully involved in practice on Thursday.

It was an estimate since the Browns, who had just returned from a trip to Houston on Sunday, had only completed a thorough walk-through rather than a full practice in preparation for their Thursday night game against the Jets.

Though offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt acknowledged that he made some slight adjustments, he did not consider it to be a major problem.

Playing behind a patchwork line, Flacco hit four touchdowns and was sacked four times in the Bears’ 20-17 victory on Sunday. He made heavy use of the keeper game and ran a lot of bootlegs and rollouts as well.

Van Pelt remarked, “He’s been moving probably better than I expected.” During the game, we have three major plays on a scramble drill, including Dave’s touchdown (Njoku). But my goodness, he’s made some incredible plays both gaining time in the pocket against pressure and moving out of it. That was the big one for Dave toward the end of the game.

Joe Flacco's calf injury status; What Denzel Ward is hoping for: Browns takeaways - cleveland.com

Denzel Ward wants to continue acting.
After missing three games due to a shoulder injury, Ward played against the Bears, however he was only able to play 43 plays, or 59% of the game. To put things in perspective, Greg Newsome II played 64 snaps for 88% of the total and Martin Emerson Jr. played 71 for 97%.

Ward went into Thursday’s practice with full force.

“It’s approaching,” Ward stated on Thursday. “I’m good, I’m feeling good. I’m having fun outside with my friends. Just being back makes me happy. I’m happy to be competing and attempting to win every week.

He said that the Browns had done a fantastic job of containing him.

“As you saw last week, they took me out a little bit after I kind of got some plays,” he remarked. “I’m just doing everything I can to support this squad and contribute to their victory. I’m going to give it everything I’ve got when I’m out there, and at the end of the year, it will take care of itself. So I’m just trying to play and be there for my teammates.

Anthony Walker Jr., Ogbo Okoronkwo, and Juan Thornhill were all out for Thursday’s practice due to injuries to their calf, pec, and knee, respectively. Walker might be dubious, and it looks like Thornhill will miss his third straight game. Since he won’t be playing for a long, Okoronkwo is debating whether to have surgery right away or try to make a comeback in time for the playoffs. Ever since sustaining the injury against the Jaguars, he has not been sighted in the locker room.

Laremy Tunsil returns; C.J. Stroud remains inactive; Ethan Pocic is limited

After resting his knee on Wednesday, Texans Pro Bowl left tackle Laremy Tunsil (knee) was fully functional on Thursday. Among the top left tackles Myles Garrett will encounter this year is him.
