George Pickens, a wide receiver for the Pittsburgh Steelers, is facing backlash after failing to block against the Indianapolis Colts. Former NFL star Donovan McNabb has warned Pickens.

This week, Pickens disclosed that he hoped to prevent an injury similar to that which befell rookie wide receiver Tank Dell of the Houston Texans.

In the most recent episode of his OutKick program, “The Five Spot,” McNabb clarified that he took issue with Pickens’ remarks and his lack of effort.

When I see a teammate staring at me and giving me his frontal numbers while not blocking the man standing next to him, I can’t help but wonder, ‘What is he doing?’ as I try to run outside of the pocket and create plays to try and turn this thing around, which has been difficult. “I have an issue with him coming to me and getting inked to prevent me from reaching the end zone,” he told OutKick senior NFL writer Armando Salguero.

“It appears to be lacking effort, which is why I have an issue. You’re acting in a self-centered and non-team-oriented manner. As I previously indicated, there is more than one receiver, which is something else that kind of comes to mind. A few receivers were acting in this manner. All things considered, Pickens is arguably their most gifted player. Don’t take it out on me since I’m the ball carrier and trying to assist the team in scoring; he might be upset that he hasn’t been getting the ball.”

It’s a revelation for me, according to McNabb.

That, in my opinion, indicates that you are careless. It’s all about you, number two. Three. You’re attempting to finish the season and go on. He declared, “This is not a Mike Tomlin scenario. This is a matter of culture. Since he will be leaving for his next post, I believe the locker room ought to monitor this and ensure that it is the last time it occurs. I promise you that. You have a rookie contract. As soon as they believe you’ll catch the next slant, they’ll cut or trade you.

Does that make sense? In my opinion, it most likely is, especially in light of that remark.”

This season has been turbulent for the Steelers.

After the offense faltered, Pittsburgh dismissed offensive coordinator Matt Canada. Diontae Johnson and Pickens have both complained about their roles in the offense. Additionally, Kenny Pickett missed time due to an injury.
