The Ohio State football coach was carjacked while recruiting close to Ginn Academy; the perpetrators were apprehended following a police pursuit.

Cleveland — Coach of Ohio State football’s tight ends, Keenan Bailey, was the victim of a carjacking at Ginn Academy on Monday. The incident sparked a police pursuit and led to the arrest of four juveniles.

According to a team representative who spoke with Cleveland.com and The Plain Dealer, Bailey, 28, was not hurt in the incident and has started recruiting again. On Tuesday morning, Bailey uploaded a picture of himself on his X.com page, taken in Canada.

The four teenagers, ages 15 to 18, were on a carjacking rampage when the incident occurred. After a police helicopter chase at East 107th and St. Clair Avenue, they were taken into custody.

Bailey’s Dodge Durango was taken by the youths during an armed robbery, according to the authorities. The two women drove away from the attack, despite the teens’ subsequent attempt to carjack them, authorities said. After a police pursuit, the four young people were taken into custody.

Today is anticipated to see the youths charged.

Bailey has been employed since 2016 in a variety of roles, but this is his first year as a full-time assistant.

The coach-related incident occurred early in the afternoon in the school’s parking lot while students were in session, according to Cleveland Councilman Mike Polensek, who also serves on the board of the Ginn Academy.

He claimed that while he was leaving another meeting late last night, a Cleveland municipal court judge called to inform him.

Four suspects ran away on foot when the authorities found it. They were apprehended without any problems. At the scene, a gun that was possibly used in the heist was found. According to the police, the case is still being looked into.

Ted Ginn Sr., a coach for track and football in Glenville, founded Ginn Academy, an all-boys school at 655 E. 162nd St. Ted Ginn Jr., his son, was an All-America kick returner for the Buckeyes before he was drafted into the NFL.

In recent years, Ohio State has increased its recruitment of Glenville athletes. This is Arvell Reese’s first season on the show. Both tight end Demarion Witten and cornerback Bryce West have committed to the 2024 signing class and are anticipated to sign with the Buckeyes in the near future.
