Day and Corey Dennis had to find a replacement for five-star quarterback prospect Dylan Raiola, who decommitted last year and later signed with Nebraska after flipping to Georgia. When Justin Zwick came in 2002, he was never going to start as a true freshman. That was before players could play four games and still receive a redshirt, so he worked behind the scenes for a team that, with Craig Krenzel, went on to win the national championship.

When Terrelle Pryor came in 2008, Ohio State quarterbacks had not generated as much buzz in a long time.
