PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback situation just took a turn they maybe didn’t want to deal with. Heading into Week 17, their decision on a starter was already a difficult one, and now, they’re dealing with even more “buts.”

The Steelers got some great Kenny Pickett news this week, but the problem is they may have been hoping it came next week – or the week after. In Week 17, many believe their starter should be Mason Rudolph, following his 290-yard, two-touchdown performance against the Cincinnati Bengals. Well, now, things may have to change.

Everyone discusses the future when discussing this week’s quarterback decision. It has to be a talking point, but it shouldn’t hold enough ground to be the deciding factor. The Steelers season is still alive. Right now, that’s all the matters.

But, they’ll start the week with some questions – and some pretty big ones.

Their answer by the end of it could make the difference for their playoff hopes, and where they go next season at quarterback.
