Before the Seahawks game, the Steelers receive good injury news.

PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Steelers are working through a handful of injuries as they prepare for Week 17 against the Seattle Seahawks but got some positive news in names like running back Najee Harris and a few others.

Harris was a limited participant after missing the opening day of practice. Since popping up on the team’s report several weeks ago with a knee injury, it’s been pretty consistent that the running back has been held back throughout the week in order to keep him healthy for game day.

Fitzpatrick continues to miss practice despite head coach Mike Tomlin being optimistic he would be a limited participant to start the week. Now nearing two full weeks of no practice since injuring his knee in Week 15, it appears unlikely the safety will play against the Seahawks.

In his place will likely be Patrick Peterson, but the Steelers did get some good news at the position, with Trenton Thompson being a full participant after starting the week limited. After suffering a neck injury two weeks ago, Thompson was unable to play last week but appears headed toward a return in Week 17.

At inside linebackers, Elandon Roberts continues to miss practice, which is expected. Tomlin has already ruled the veteran out for Week 17 due to a pectoral injury, but Roberts said don’t count him out for a return in Week 18.

To end the positive news for the Steelers, offensive guard Isaac Seumalo was a full participant after missing yesterday with a shoulder injury. He typically has a veteran’s day off and has missed at least one day of practice with the shoulder injury the last few weeks.

As for quarterback Kenny Pickett, he remains limited for a second day. At this point, it feels unexpected he’ll be able to return in Week 17 from his ankle injury, despite him trying to push his way back onto the field. For now, Mason Rudolph is expected to start.
