Nick Saban’s wife Terry has confirmed her husband’s seismic decision to leave his post as head coach of the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Earlier on Wednesday, news emerged that Saban was retiring after an incredible 17-year tenure in Tuscaloosa.

In a statement, via the Nick’s Kids Foundation, Terry Saban wrote: ‘It has been an incredible run these last 17 years at the University of Alabama and we take with us many amazing memories.’

She added: ‘Alabama will always feel like ‘Sweet Home’ to our family, and we’ll be cheering “Roll Tide!”‘

The 72-year-old won six national titles with Alabama after taking over back in 2007.

The Crimson Tide has yet to officially confirm the decision, despite Terry’s statement via the Nick’s Kids Foundation – the couple’s official charity. Nick and Terry have been married since 1971.

Saban is the highest-paid college football coach ever and had signed a new deal with Alabama in 2022 worth $93.6 million over eight seasons.
