Jason explained in the latest episode of the New Heights podcast that he shares with brother Travis, that Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni allowed him to address the team regarding his future on Monday night.

The All-Pro center said there was “too much emotion in the moment” after the game to grasp the decision to retire.

“It’s just something that I think you know when it’s time to officially announce you know what’s happening in the future it’ll be done in a way you know that’s definitive and pays respect to a lot of people that have meant a lot to me,” Jason added.

Jason’s address comes after rumors arose that he told his teammates he was retiring after the Eagles suffered a 9-32 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

And so Jason told them: “Don’t feel sorry for me, motherf***er.”

The Eagles center then told his brother, “I had a f***ing…” but couldn’t finish the sentence, visibly overcome with emotions.

Jason then looked away and started breathing heavily, seemingly trying to stop the tears.

And Travis said: “Hell yeah, brother. Hell yeah, man.”

The New Heights podcast with brothers Jason and Travis Kelce premiered today.

The six-time Pro Bowler confirmed that he had some poignant words for his teammates after the Monday game — and then seemingly choked back tears.

“I got belief in every single one of you guys,” Jason recalled saying in the locker room.

“Cherish the moments you have in this league.”

Jason said that in response, Eagles stars said they felt “sorry for him” if the wild card loss was in fact his last NFL game.

Jason Kelce went into detail about what happens when a team’s season ends on the New Heights podcast with his brother Travis.
