Victor Torp scored a stunning debut goal but it wasn’t enough to fire Coventry City into the fifth round of the FA Cup at Hillsborough.
The £2.1million January signing from Sarpsborg wowed the 4,000-plus strong travelling fans when he let fly from about 22-yards to give the Sky Blues the lead against Sheffield Wednesday on the stroke of half-time. But a late equaliser from Djeidi Gassama meant the fourth round tie will go to a replay at the CBS Arena.
Coventry missed two early chances from the boots of Matty Godden and Kasey Palmer before Torp put them in front in a lively cup which saw Wednesday fight back after the break with Ike Ugbo thumping the frame of the goal before pulling level six minutes
from time.
