Cole Palmer suspension, Mauricio Pochettino warns.

It’s gameday!!! Chelsea can secure a third consecutive win for just the second time under Mauricio Pochettino in their first Christmas Eve Premier League match for 28 years as they take on Wolves at Molineux this afternoon.

The Blues will be travelling without a few of their key stars though as Enzo Fernandez will miss the tie after he was seen crying on the pitch following the Carabao Cup quarter-final win over Newcastle United.

The Argentine midfielder was confirmed to have suffered a hernia problem just as club captain Reece James underwent surgery on his hamstring after his issue he picked up against Everton two weeks ago. Levi Colwill was another concern after the clash with the Magpies but he looks to be fit and ready to go after being seen in first team training this week.

Despite the knocks, it’s not all bad news for the Blues ahead of the match as marquee summer signing Christopher Nkunku’s impressive cameo performance in midweek gave supporters a glimpse of what he’ll want to bring into his first Premier League match against Gary O’Neil’s side this weekend.

Sterling also out!
Raheem Sterling will be suspended for Chelsea’s Premier League clash against Crystal Palace. The England international picked up his fifth booking of the season during the 2-1 defeat against Wolves at Molineux.

Sterling was awarded a yellow card for simulation late in the game as the Blues pushed for an equaliser. It comes after Cole Palmer also picked up his fifth yellow card of the season, with the former Manchester City man set to miss the fixture against Palace.
