It’s something Tottenham fans will be very familiar with, as the team have achieved a top-four finish in five of the last eight seasons. Sadly, that didn’t happen last year, though, and the Lilywhites are desperate to get back into Europe’s top competition.
So far this season, Ange Postecoglou‘s men are right up there challenging at the very top of the league, and currently sit in fifth place.

Will fifth place be enough for Spurs?
That could actually end up being enough, though. As per a change to the Champions League format next season, two nations will be rewarded with an extra spot in the tournament via the league placings this season.
It all depends on how far teams go in this year’s continental competitions, and as it stands Italy lead the way, with Germany behind them. England are in third in the coefficient rankings, but a golden opportunity just presented itself thanks to Frankfurt crashing out of the Europa Conference League.
