Former Las Vegas Raiders cornerback Damon Arnette found himself in legal trouble once again, this time in Texas. According to a report by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Arnette was arrested last month in the Dallas area, charged with possession of methamphetamine and the unlawful carrying of a firearm.
The arrest took place on Jan. 6 at 3:30 a.m., though specifics leading to the incident remain undisclosed. While the possession charge is considered a felony in Texas, Arnette’s alleged possession of less than a single gram typically doesn’t result in jail

Arnette, known for his college football tenure at Ohio State, where he accumulated 35 tackles and scored an impressive 96-yard interception return for a touchdown during his senior season in 2019, was drafted by the Raiders in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft.
Arnette’s career was derailed by off-field issues
Despite a promising start, injuries and off-field issues marred Arnette’s professional career. Over two seasons with the Raiders, he managed to play just 13 games before being waived during the 2021 season amid multiple legal troubles. These included a lawsuit over an alleged hit-and-run incident and a disturbing video surfacing, showing Arnette brandishing multiple guns while making threats.
Following his release from the Raiders, Arnette briefly signed with the Kansas City Chiefs but was released before making an appearance in a game, following an arrest in 2022 on assault charges. His legal woes continued with another drug-related arrest later that year in South Florida.

Despite the setbacks, Arnette expressed optimism about a potential return to the NFL in August, stating his remorse for past actions and his commitment to personal growth.
However, with his recent arrest in Texas, the future of Arnette’s football career remains uncertain, raising doubts about whether he will ever receive another chance in the league.
