For those who enjoy spring football, the USFL and XFL merged late last year to form the United Football League. The new UFL is slated to begin play late next month.
The purpose of the UFL is to give those currently not on NFL rosters another path to the NFL. For some, it could be a return to the NFL for one last shot, or for others, it could be their first and only opportunity.
The Arlington Renegades upset the D.C. Defenders in last year’s XFL championship. In the USFL championship, the Birmingham Stallions defeated the Pittsburgh Maulers. Arlington, D.C. and Birmingham will all be a part of the new UFL.
