Former All-Star Isaiah Thomas Makes Statement in Jazz G-League Debut
The former Boston Celtics All-Star guard had a stellar first outing in his journey back to the NBA.
While it might not be Utah Jazz basketball, their G-League affiliate in the Salt Lake City Stars made some headlines on Thursday night as Isaiah Thomas made his debut with the squad against the Dallas Mavericks affiliate, the Texas Legends.
Salt Lake ended the game taking home a 127-116 victory over Texas, and the Stars were led by none other than their newest addition to the squad, Isaiah Thomas.
Thomas had put together a strong offensive performance in his first game with the Stars. In 39 minutes, he posted 32 points, one rebound, and four assists. After being out of action for over a year, this output was a great start in IT’s progress to get a spot back onto a 15-man roster.
Isaiah was an elite point guard during his time with the Boston Celtics, putting together two All-Star seasons and leading the team to the Eastern Conference Finals in the 2017 season. Now, at 35 years old, he may be considered a league veteran in the back nine of his playing career, but that doesn’t mean he can’t play at a high level when given the opportunity.
