NFL free agency begins next week, and this is an all-important period for the Detroit Lions.
Equipped with roughly $54 million, per Spotrac, the team has flexibility to improve the roster in more ways than one. The Lions could go with a high average annual value on a shorter-term deal, they could spread out the money and address a wide variety of needs, they could look to take care of their own or they could get creative with the trade market.
No matter how the Lions ultimately look to improve, expect GM Brad Holmes to be active. The Lions are viewed as Super Bowl contenders, and the moves made both now and during the draft in April will help us determine just how ready they are for the next step. Jonah Jackson: The Lions’ starting left guard the last four years, Jackson has provided the team with incredible value as a third-round pick. He’s been named to a Pro Bowl and has been a mainstay on one of the best offensive lines in football. However, he’s due for
