They call it a “free agent frenzy” for a reason. When the new league year begins on Wednesday, the National Football League’s transaction wire is as active as ever, a non-stop flow of news surrounded by rumors that makes it difficult to even digest the biggest changes in the league.
The madness actually begins a few days before when the “tampering” window opens on Monday afternoon. From that point forward, commitments are made and deals are agreed upon, at least unofficially, which leads to one NFL insider after another posting their scoops online. Considering the number of players who will be switching teams and/or signing deals, there’s a lot to process.
It can be hard to keep track of everything across the league, but we can do our part here to keep you posted on the activities of your favorite team and familiar players. We’ll keep everything updated here with our 2024 free agent tracker.

L’Jarius Sneed, defensive back – The Chiefs have a big decision to make on whether to agree to a long-term deal with their prized cornerback or trade him away. Then again, they could let him play out the season on a one-year deal set at $19.8M.
Free agent signings
Matt Araiza, punter (1-year, $795K) – The Chiefs grabbed Araiza in a bit of a shocking move as Tommy Townsend’s deal expires. Araiza has been out of the NFL for two years but there’s no denying his talent.

Drue Tranquill (3-year, $19M) – Tranquill made no secret of his love for playing in K.C. and the franchise loved him back with a three-year deal to keep him in house for Steve Spagnuolo’s defense.
