Former Alabama standout linebacker is signing with the Arizona Cardinals, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.NFL free agency: Mack Wilson's future with Patriots in question - Pats Pulpit

“Source: Former Patriots LB Mack Wilson has agreed to terms with the Cardinals on a 3-year, $12.75M deal worth up to $15M. More help on defense,” Rapoport writes.

Selected with the 155th-overall pick by the Cleveland Browns in the 2019 NFL Draft, the Crimson Tide product immediately proved that he should’ve been selected earlier. During his rookie season, Wilson finished with 82 tackles (second-most on the team) in 14 starts.

After missing a decent chunk of his next two seasons due to injuries, Wilson was traded to the Patriots in 2022 after fellow former Crimson Tide linebacker Dont’a Hightower’s contract expired. Even though he was healthy, Wilson only started in four of his 34 games played while with New England. During that span, he gathered 73 tackles, including six for loss, five sacks, four pass breakups and three forced fumbles.

The 26-year-old from Montgomery, Ala. is aiming for a starting role in his fresh start with the Cardinals. Arizona has been looking for answers for quite some time as they’ve only finished above .500 once in the past six seasons, including a 4-13 record in each of the last two.

Wilson is the first Crimson Tide product on the Cardinals ahead of next season. He is also the fourth former Alabama standout that was either extended or signed elsewhere on Monday, joining Landon Dickerson and new Green Bay Packers Josh Jacobs and Xavier McKinney.
