According to a report from On3 Sports, Proctor will transfer back to Alabama and re-enroll in the spring. The Athletic’s Scott Dochterman was the first to report Proctor’s potential return to Alabama after going on spring break with multiple of his former teammates.

Proctor was a 5-star recruit in the 2023 recruiting cycle for the Crimson Tide and won the starting left tackle job. Despite some early struggles and competition at his position, he started all 14 games over the course of the season.

Proctor entered the transfer portal on Jan. 17 as a part of the mass exodus from the team that followed head coach Nick Saban’s retirement. He committed to Iowa, his home state and the program he was originally committed to out of high school before flipping his commitment to Alabama.Kadyn Proctor, 5-star OL, visits Alabama football ahead of signing day

The spring transfer portal window opens Saturday, April 15, so Proctor will not be able to officially enter the portal or make his new transfer destination official until then. The spring transfer window is only open for 15 days, and closes April 30.

From a football standpoint, Proctor’s return would no doubt be a welcomed addition to a Crimson Tide offensive line that suffered the loss of its other starting tackle, JC Latham, to the NFL Draft. The line returns both starting guards in Tyler Booker and Jaedon Roberts, and added Washington transfer Parker Brailsford at the center position.
