AFTER MANY YEARS OF WAITING THE AJAX AMSTERDAM HAVE WELCOME THE ALL TIME PLAYER THAT THEM HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR YEARS.

According to Completesports.com, Nigerian forward Chuba Akpom has officially signed with Premier League powerhouse Ajax.

Akpom did not make it into the first team at Arsenal when he began his career there.

The right-footed player joined PAOK FC of the Greek Super League in 2018 after spending time on loan at a few English teams.

The greatest team in the Dutch league appears to be keeping an eye on youthful attacking midfielder Bilal El Khannouss after his performance against Croatia in the World Cup third-place playoff match.

Converging news sources state that Ajax Amsterdam is “ready” to make a transfer fee offer of €20 million (MAD 223 million) to get the young football star.

After authoring my last article, The Ajax Way – Masterclass in Total Football, I’ve finished another season and am providing a much-needed update on the Ajax way series. The goal is to bring the written content up to date with actual game action. (which required a bit more time to complete)

As you recall from my analysis of the 2023–2024 season, the Board mandated that we contend for the Eredivisie title and be a strong contender in the UEFA Champions League.

I’ll try to give you a quick rundown of our 2024–2025 season in today’s season review before concentrating on a data-driven approach to tactical adjustments. After that, I’ll try to give an overview of our hiring process before finishing the blog and outlining our expectations from the leadership group for 2025–2026.

Arne Slot’s Feyenoord were just too good, and they won the Eredivisie three times in a row, which is one of my goals for the Ajax way save! We ended the season in second place.

We gain direct participation into the UEFA Champions League with second place. As a football team, Ajax must participate in the top continental football competition in order to gain access to a much-needed extra cash source. To put things in perspective, the prize money for the UEFA Champions League in 2024–2025 was equal to £87 million, and the extra £11 million came from our 2023–2024 UEFA Europa League performance.

Steven Bergwijn received the most POTM awards (five), earning a nomination for “Fan’s Player of the Season,” and accumulating 21 goal contributions (14 assists and 7 goals). For the second consecutive year, Brian Brobbey won the title of “Young Player of the Season.” The striker was unstoppable in front of goal, tallying 26 goals in the regular season and accumulating an anticipated goals percentage of 0.63 per 90.

It’s funny to note that Brobbey makes £69k a week and Bergwijn earns £77k, making them the club’s biggest earners. Maybe the driving force behind this is money!
