Heartbreak: New York Yankees greatest player of all time has terminated his contract to sign a new contract.

A source familiar with the agreement claims that Aaron Judge has agreed to a three-year, $360 million contract extension with the New York Yankees.

Numerous media sites, including ESPN and MLB Network, reported on Judge’s new contract after the source verified the agreement to the Associated Press.

Judge will have the highest average yearly salary of any position player at $40 million per season. The largest contracts in baseball history are only surpassed by Mike Trout’s $426.5 million agreement with the Los Angeles Angels and Mookie Betts’ $365 million agreement with the Los Angeles Dodgers. The contracts of the final two players are for 12 years, therefore their annual salary is less than Judge’s.

Before the 2018 season, Judge received an offer from New York to sign a long-term contract worth $213.5 million over seven years.

With a wager on himself, the 6′ 7″ Judge prevailed. With 62 home runs in 2022, he broke the American League record and helped the Yankees win the AL East. With 131 RBIs, he also matched for the major league lead and, with a.311 batting average, almost missed a Triple Crown. Although Houston swept New York in the ALCS, Judge won the AL MVP award for the Yankees for the first time since Alex Rodriguez in 2007.

The 30-year-old received $146.5 million and two additional guaranteed seasons in exchange for turning down the Yankees’ preseason offer. There were presumably other teams keeping an eye on the market for the slugger, since the native of northern California also met with the San Francisco Giants last month.
