Surprising news: The Cincinnati Reds traded their most talented player to another weak baseball team, which caused them to lose their match against the Phillies.

Remarkably, the Cincinnati Reds lost to the Phillies after trading their best player to another underperforming team.

After learning he would be suspended for 80 games for a PED usage infraction, the Cincinnati Reds projected starting third baseman Noelvi Marte would miss almost half of the season.

Marte made his big league debut in 2023 and is one of the many gifted players expected to join the Reds in 2024. During his 35 Reds games, he batted.316 with three home runs, fifteen RBI, and six stolen bases.

The surplus of infielders Cincinnati has does clear up in his absence. Jeimer Candelario can now play third base, Elly De La Cruz shortstop, Matt McLain second base, and perhaps they can mix in Jonathan India and Christian Encarnacion-Strand at first base.

Entering the season as the No. 21 overall prospect in baseball (No. 1 in the club), he hasn’t played enough games to graduate out of the MLB Top 100 prospect list.
