Good news: NC State Wolfpack players have nominated a star player among their team players as their new head coach in the next two to three days.

In the next two or three days, NC State Wolfpack players will choose a standout member of their squad to serve as their new head coach.

With head coach Dave Doeren, Wolfpack basketball has been characterized by consistency and continuity. This season will be no different for NC State, which has retained all of its coaching staff from the previous one.

Along with seasoned director of strength and conditioning Dantonio Burnette, all eleven assistant coaches extended their contracts throughout the offseason. Additionally, Garret Tujague, an OL coach, will now serve as the run game coordinator, while quarterbacks coach Kurt Roper has been named pass game coordinator. Play-calling on offense will still be done by offensive coordinator Robert Anae.

“Continuity has been one of our program strengths,” said Doeren, whose 12th Wolfpack squad starts spring practice on February 27. “We’ve managed to be different in that area because players want what they signed up for. We’ve been a model of consistency in a profession that is notoriously turbulent.

“I really enjoy working with this group of coaches, and Sara and I are excited and thankful that they all want to continue to be a part of what we’re building together.”

With 340 years of combined coaching experience between Doeren and his team, the Wolfpack coaching staff is among the most experienced in the country.
