Good news: Seattle Mariners players have nominated a star player among their team players as their new head coach in the next two to three days.
Positive news: Over the following two to three days, Seattle Mariners players will choose a standout player from their squad to serve as their next head coach.
Though it seems doubtful that many Mariners will be playing in the Major League Baseball All-Star Game when it comes to Seattle next month, manager Scott Servais might be.
Mark this one as a thoughtful gesture by Baker. With experience in management, Baker did the right thing by giving Servais the opportunity to coach at his own ballpark. Baker performed a really admirable deed, even though the Astros and Mariners are division rivals.
Not insignificantly, in each of the previous two years, Servais placed in the top three on the Manager of the Year ballot. He does know how to teach, even if the Mariners are a dismal 38-41 this season.
He is qualified to manage the American League in the All-Star Game since the Astros defeated the Phillies in the 2022 World Series.
Regarding the Mariners, they play the Tampa Bay Rays on Friday to return to action. The top team in baseball is not the one Servais and Company want to see visit town; they are in desperate need of victories.
