Heartbreaking news, The head coach of Swansea City is suspended after proved that he had affair with his key player,s wife
Michael Duff was fired as head coach of Swansea City after less than half a year in charge of the Championship team.
Swansea is now in 18th place in the table when Duff leaves, having won just once in his previous eight games.
The 45-year-old had a challenging tenure as Swansea’s manager, and the team had been having trouble staying consistent this year.
Alan Sheehan, Martin Paterson’s fellow assistant head coach, has taken over as interim manager.
When Swansea takes on second-bottom Rotherham United on Saturday in an attempt to win their first league game in five, Sheehan will begin his interim position.
After a humiliating derby loss to Cardiff City, Duff’s short reign started with a seven-game league winless streak. However, a run of four straight victories propelled his team into the top half of the table.
However, since then, they have only managed to score six out of a potential 24, a concerning run that has cost Duff his job.
A portion of Swansea’s fan base jeered the former Barnsley and Cheltenham Town manager following last Saturday’s draw with Huddersfield.
According to Swansea City, “the process to appoint a new head coach is already under way”.
After former manager Russell Martin moved to Southampton, Duff left League One Barnsley to take the helm at Swansea in June. He signed a contract that would last until 2026 with the Swans.
