Sad report; Luke Williams shed tears as Swansea City introduced new coach to the team
Although Swansea City’s head coach Luke Williams is disappointed with the way their goal was given up at Sheffield Wednesday, he thinks his team would still accept the point.
Bailey Cadamarteri’s close-range goal in the first forty-five minutes was cancelled out by Jamal Lowe’s second-half effort to share the points at Hillsborough.
Williams said that it “was not a top performance from us,” saying that it was not the thrilling performance that had been seen against Cardiff City in the South Wales derby before to the international break.
The Swans made the trip to Wearside looking to make it consecutive wins on their travels after beating play-off chasing Hull in their previous away fixture. They have since suffered home defeats to automatic promotion hopefuls Leeds United and Ipswich Town, but Swans boss Luke Williams says his players have been determined to raise performance levels and standards. Swansea City is set to take on Sunderland this coming Saturday.
“It shows they care and understand what they are supposed to be achieving and if someone falls below that you are entitled to tell people, but you have to do it in the right way.
“It’s not about settling scores, it’s about working together. That’s given me encouragement.”
