The Stephen curry is Thankful for what he is learning from warriors.
took a moment to express gratitude to a few of the Bay Area nurses fighting the coronavirus pandemic.
Curry wrapped up a FaceTime session with a few employees at Oakland’s Alta Bates Summit Medical Center shortly before their 3 p.m. shift on Wednesday.
Shelby Delaney claimed she was taken aback by the NBA champion’s message. Curry then expressed his gratitude to Delaney and the whole staff.
Curry exclaimed, “I adore it.” “I am incredibly grateful to God for everything you are doing, including the selflessness, sacrifice, and unity shown by everyone. I sincerely appreciate what you do, your kindness, and the inspiration you give to everyone.
As reported by the San Jose Mercury News, Delaney attempted to encourage her Facebook friends with a message of optimism just a week ago.
As the number of coronavirus infections rises and hospital resources become increasingly limited, the last several weeks have been chaotic and unclear, the author said. I started to feel helpless and defeated. I realized at that very moment that I had to call upon my inner warrior. So I put on my Steph jersey underneath my scrubs and got to work thinking of ways I could contribute to the answer.
According to the Mercury News, Delaney was among the first nurses to offer her services as a volunteer at the hospital. She told Curry how amazing he is to her as they resumed their talk.
“I wanted to express my gratitude for your inspiration, particularly in the early days of my employment here. There’s two individuals you’re trying to keep alive during your shift, there’s a steep learning curve, and there are a lot of difficult things going on with family. I’ve wanted to give up, quit, and do something simpler at times,” the woman admitted.
I started donning the jersey at that point. That was just a simple approach for me to remind myself that I can handle this and gather my strength.
And just to embrace my inner child, lead with love and joy the way you do, and provide love, joy, and fun to the world even though it’s a difficult place to be. Sincerely speaking, you have changed my life significantly, and I am grateful for that.
After a few more minutes of conversation, Curry thanked the nurses again. “I know you guys have very important work to do. We have so many people praying for you, rooting for you and I know as things continue to go, hopefully, everybody will take a personal responsibility to try to end this thing, hopefully, sooner than later.” California has been one of the hardest-hit states during the coronavirus outbreak. As of Thursday morning, the state had reported more than 19,000 coronavirus cases and more than 500 deaths.
